WHEREAS the Bush administration appears bent on initiating a military action in Iraq; and
WHEREAS any military action will result in the death and disabling of innocent persons and our own military personnel; and
WHEREAS there is in place United Nations procedures that can be implemented to sanction any U.S. military actions;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that IAMAW Lodge 459 oppose any military actions in Iraq not specifically sanctioned and authorized by the United Nations.
Unanimously passed Nov. 21, 2002. Previously passed by the IAMAW District 77 Retirees Union on a unanimous vote Nov. 20, 2002.
