POSITION TITLE: Director of Organizing and Field Operations

Minnesota Nurses Association, the largest Professional Nurses union in the Midwest, is seeking a Director of Organizing and Field Operations. This position is responsible for the management, support and development of an external organizing program in order to promote and achieve the goals and priorities of the Minnesota Nurses Association (MNA), in accordance with the directives of the leadership of the MNA. The successful candidate will also work with the Executive Director and management team to plan, implement and evaluate the initiatives of MNA. The responsibilities of the position include, creating and executing an organizing plan, developing organizing capacity through leadership development for Association members and staff, supervising and assigning, budget and work plan development, coalition and alliance activities, strategic plan development and program implementation. The position may include long and irregular hours, including weekends and evenings. Travel is required including overnight stays.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: BA/BS Degree is required; advanced degree preferred. Registered Nurse is preferred.
Experience: Five years of union organizing experience, is required, including at least two years in a lead or director role and managing a major campaign. Two years of management experience, including managing a variety of staff and program activity, setting budgets and strategic planning, is required. . Demonstrated knowledge of, and experience in, the health care industry, including provider, finance and political, is preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to lead and motivate others are essential. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills are necessary
SALARY: Negotiable based on experience and education
