Duluth residents will participate in the annual march and rally to celebrate Martin Luther King Day on Monday, then will picket to support hotel workers in Canal Park.

The annual march starts at 11:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 20, at the Washington Center, Lake Ave. and 4^th St. Marchers will converge on the Duluth Entertainment and Convention Center for a noon rally.

From 5 to 6 p.m., Hotel Employees and Restaurant Employees Local 99 will hold an informational picketline in front of the Inn on the Lake in Canal Park. Workers at Canal Park hotels have asked their employers to sign a neutrality agreement so they can decide whether or not to unionize without fear of intimidation.

So far, none of the hotels has signed, the union reported. It has been holding regular pickets in front of the facilities.
