Shar Knutson

Titled “New Directions in Leadership: A Discussion with Women Union Officers,” the program will run from 8:30 a.m. to noon Friday, May 21, at the Minnesota Humanities Center, 987 Ivy Ave. E., St. Paul.

The program will open with a networking breakfast, followed by a keynote speech by Shar Knutson, first female president of the Minnesota AFL-CIO. Knutson will also moderate a discussion with other union leaders about the role women currently play in the labor movement and how to increase women’s involvement in their unions. The morning will wrap with a skills session.

This program is sponsored by the Labor Education Service in cooperation with the Minnesota AFL-CIO. Cost is $35 and includes hot breakfast, program and materials. The deadline to register is May 12. Download a flier and registration form at the LES website, or call 612-624-5020.
