Mounds View city workers will go on strike Monday, April 22, the union representing the workers, AFSCME Council 14, announced.
The strike date was set after no progress was made in negotiations April 10, the union said. The workers, who voted for a union in August 2001, are attempting to get their first union contract. The union represents 30 city employees, about half of whom are seasonal workers at the municipal golf course.
Wages and health insurance are key issues in the talks, the union said.
