Organizing Institute trainings are designed to equip member activists and organizers with the basic skills of union organizing. Skills covered include:
• One-on-one communication;
• Moving workers to take action;
• Leadership identification and development;
Any union, state federation or central labor council affiliated with the national AFL-CIO may sponsor a participant in the Organizing Institute training. Sponsorship forms are due by May 12. The registration fee is $125 per participant, which includes training materials and meals for the weekend. Personal checks will not be accepted.
All participants must be pre-registered. All fees must be paid by the start of the training, unless other arrangements are made in advance.
