“I’m so proud that we took a stand for our patients and for ourselves,” said Kathy Evenson, a staffer for home health aides and RNs at North Memorial Home Health and Hospice. “We know that we are stronger together and can now speak with one voice for patient care and a healthier workplace.”

The union said key issues in the organizing were better patient care and improved working conditions.

SEIU Healthcare represents more than 1 million nurses and healthcare workers, including 17,000 in Minnesota’s hospital, clinic, nursing home, and homecare industries.
