The Minnesota Nurses Association has called a rally for Thursday, May 31, the eve of a possible strike by 7,700 Twin Cities area registered nurses.
'Minnesota nurses are taking a stand for the future of nursing and the safety of patients,' the MNA said in announcing the event. It will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Aldrich Arena in Maplewood.
Meanwhile, negotiations continued Friday between the MNA and representatives of 12 hospitals at an undisclosed location. The nurses voted last week to reject contract offers and authorize a walkout at the hospitals that could begin June 1.
