Members of Teamsters Local 120 and supporters picketed parking facilities before the Minnesota Vikings and Timberwolves games Dec. 21 and continued their actions outside downtown parking ramps.
The demonstrators handed out leaflets to call attention to the organizing campaign among 400 parking ramp workers. They urged people to contact the Minneapolis City Council to support the workers.
Municipal Parking, Inc., the company that manages the publicly owned ramps, will not sign a 'labor peace agreement' to guarantee it would not retaliate against workers who want a union, Local 120 said.
