Members of the Minnesota Fair Trade Coalition plan to rally Monday in St. Paul against the proposed Trans-Pacific Partnership trade deal.
They will rally from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 16, outside the Minnesota Trade Office in the 1st National Bank Building, 332 Minnesota St., St. Paul.
The coalition, which includes labor, farm, environmental and community groups, will leaflet and speak out about why the TPP is a “job-killing trade deal.”
The 12-nation pact would set binding rules governing approximately 40 percent of the global economy. The Minnesota Fair Trade Coalition said it poses significant threats to the economy, environment and public health in Minnesota and beyond.
