Regina Medical Center and Service Employees International Union Local 113 have reached a tentative agreement on a new, three-year contract. The union said informational picketing that had been scheduled for Thursday has been cancelled.
The tentative agreement covers 200 health care workers represented by Local 113, including nursing assistants, dietary workers, and housekeeping staff, who have been working without a contract since July 1.
"The Negotiating Team will recommend members vote to approve the new contract offer," the union announced. "The new contract includes an improved wage offer, some relief on the cost of family health insurance, and new incentives for long-term employees."
Details of the tentative agreement are being kept confidential until union members vote on the contract Aug. 8.
Local 113 represents almost 14,000 healthcare and other workers in Minnesota.
