This year's Midwest School for Women Workers is being combined with the Southern School for Union Women and will be held August 15-18 in Little Rock, Arkansas. The registration deadline has been extended.
The theme is "Follow Our Lead: Leadership Skills for Union Women." General sessions, attended by all participants, are held each day of the school. An extended presentation of “Why Unions Still Matter,” which explores the history of the labor movement within an economic and political framework, will span the four sessions.
In addition to general sessions, participants will pick two tracks, a morning track and an afternoon track, to attend each day. Topics include leadership, mobilizing your local, grievance handling and FMLA/ADA.
