The event will run from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 6, at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 4537 3rd Ave. S., Minneapolis. Suggested contribution levels are $25, $50, $100, $250 and $500. Appetizers and a cash bar will be available.

Formed in 1999, the Twin Cities Religion and Labor Network (TCRLN) unites clergy, people of faith and local unions to speak out together for justice for workers. TCRLN clergy have been a familiar presence at picket lines and vigils and have met with management to voice community support for workers\' rights.

The fundraiser will promote a new name for the organization — Workers Interfaith Network (WIN).

"We want to use the fundraiser as an opportunity to tell people we\'re making the transition," said TCRLN director Matt Gladue. The new name will become official in January.

"It was hard for people to remember who we were," Gladue said, explaining the name change. "We wanted a name that was easier to remember and acronym that had a ring to it."

The acronym for Workers Interfaith Network — WIN — "is a nice encapsulation of what we\'re about," Gladue said. "We\'re about winning — and building winning relationships between people of faith and workers and people in the labor movement."

Ellison\'s remarks at the fundraiser will be part of a short program that also will feature Kim Bobo, executive director of Interfaith Worker Justice, a national umbrella organization for groups like TCLRN/WIN that work to organize coalitions between labor and faith groups.
