Events were held across the country Wednesday -- Workers Memorial Day -- to remember the fallen and renew the call for workplace safety.
At the Minnesota Department of Transportation\'s Cedar Truck Station (below) empty chairs, each with a nameplate, are a reminder of the hazards faced by those working on Minnesota\'s roadways. The commemoration was organized by AFSCME in cooperation with state officials.
