The Minnesota State Retiree Council, AFL-CIO, will host a free workshop Jan. 7 on Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid and how to talk with other people about the future of these important safety net programs.
The workshop will be Thursday, January 7, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Minnesota AFL-CIO offices, 175 Aurora Ave., St. Paul.
Buddy Robinson, staff director of the Minnesota Citizens Federation Northeast, will lead the discussion. Robinson believes strongly that the safety net is important — not just for today’s seniors, but for baby boomers, children and generations to come.
Workshop participants will learn key facts about the essential economic security programs and progressive solutions to protect and improve them. They will get easy-to-use informational materials and tips on how to give presentations and facilitate dialogues on these topics.
