Seward Co-op Workers Hold a 2pm Work Stoppage

Seward Community Co-op workers had a work stoppage at 2PM today in solidarity with George Floyd, as well as Black and Trans lives lost to police violence.

The workers called upon their own store leadership and their union UFCW Local 663 to publicly support the “defunding” and “dismantling” of the Minneapolis Police Department.

Filiberto Nolasco Gomez is a former union organizer and former editor of Minneapolis based Workday Minnesota, the first online labor news publication in the state. Filiberto focused on longform and investigative journalism. He has covered topics including prison labor, labor trafficking, and union fights in the Twin Cities.
