These courses are an opportunity for new and seasoned activists to sharpen their skills. Classes are open to all, but registration is required. Explore how current immigration policy affects us as workers and union members. While comprehensive immigration reform is unlikely to pass anytime soon, the key issues surrounding immigration in our community and worksites persist. This course will equip participants with practical knowledge of immigration policy and enforcement and the impact on workers. Review how migration relates to employment and wages, explore the legal barriers faced by immigrant workers and discuss how unions have responded. Tuition is $25.

Designed for the new steward or union member who wants to become a steward. Emphasis will be placed on steward roles, rights and duties; grievance investigation, writing, presentation and day-to-day problem-solving. Tuition is $50.
