The Saint Paul Trades and Labor Assembly has revamped its website, www.stpaulunions.org to include more photos and up-to-date information.
The most dramatic new feature is how the site shows the labor movement in action. Every page has a photo of union members from past events, drawn from the archives of The St. Paul Union Advocate newspaper. In addition, the site now contains extensive photo archives from major recent events: the 2004 Labor Day Extravaganza, the 2004 Metro Transit strike, construction of the 2004 Ice Palace, the 2003 University of Minnesota clerical workers? strike, and the 2003 Immigrant Workers Freedom Ride.
The new site also has beefed-up information about upcoming events and other ways for union members to get active and stay active. The new design makes it easier to keep event information up to date, and to find timely information.
In addition, www.stpaulunions.org has extensive resource information ? on topics such as workplace rights, voter registration and rights, the advantages of working union, how to find and join a union and more. It also has basic information about the Trades and Labor Assembly itself, The Union Advocate, and AFL-CIO Community Services in the East Metro.
In the near future, the website will add information to help people ?Buy Union? ? where to find union-made goods and services in the Twin Cities and nationally.
