The State Retiree Council, AFL-CIO, is sponsoring a Second Annual Fund Raiser on Saturday, April 23, to benefit its political education program.
The event will run from 4 to 8 p.m. at Sheet Metal Workers 10, 1681 Cope Avenue in Maplewood.
Admission is free. Featured will be free food, raffle tickets, a few hourly drawings and a silent auction. Radio host Wendy Wilde will be there and some political candidates may stop by to meet and greet union members and their families, organizers said.
The State Retiree Council will use money raised from this event to communicate with and provide political education for the 400,000 retired union members in Minnesota.
