Town hall meetings on Iraq War Tuesday

The events are part of a national "Take A Stand Day" sponsored by a number of organizations and organized by Americans United for Change.

Here is the forum schedule:

St. Paul
Lakes & Plains Carpenters Great Hall

Tuesday, Aug. 28, from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.
Speakers will include Congresswoman Betty McCollum; former U.S. Senator Mark Dayton; state Rep. John Lesch; Joanne Tromiczak of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondolet and Daniel Fanning, an Iraq War veteran from Duluth. Music will be provided by Larry Long.

Minnetonka
Minnetonka Community Center
14600 Minnetonka Blvd.
Tuesday, Aug. 28, from 4 to 5 p.m.
Speakers will include Brandon Day, a two-tour Iraq Vet; Rick Hanson of Military Families Speak Out; and Shane Allers, executive director of SEIU Local 284.

St. Cloud
Cascade Room at the Atwood Center, St. Cloud State University

Tuesday, Aug. 28, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Speakers will include Siri Erickson, Pastor at Trinity Lutheran Church in Stillwater; Keith Lentz, Pastor at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, whose son recently returned from Iraq; Mary Backes, mother of a soldier in Iraq; St. Mary Therese Woida of the Sisters of St. Benedict and First Sergeant Wes Davey, an Iraq War veteran.
