"Minnesota: Fading star of the North?" is the theme of a union-community forum set for 7 p.m., Thursday, March 15, at Christ Lutheran Church, University Ave. at Park St., in St. Paul.
Sponsored by the Minnesota AFL-CIO, the Affirmative Action Coalition, the Minnesota Farmers Union and their community partners, the event will provide an opportunity for people to outline their vision for the state. Speakers will answer the question, "From where you work and live, how does Minnesota's future look to you?"
Lawmakers will be invited to attend and listen. Organizers expect more than 200 people to attend the 90-minute forum.
Keynote speaker will be the Rev. David McCauley of the Minnesota Catholic Conference.
The forum is free and open to the public. The church is handicapped accessible. Free parking will be available in State Lot C at Rice Street and University Ave.
A reception will follow the program.
