A representative of the United Steelworkers is scheduled to be among the speakers at two "Bring Them Home Now" events Friday and Saturday in the Twin Cities.
Members of military families and an Iraqi veteran are among the delegation traveling across the country to call for an end to the war in Iraq. The group will be welcomed Friday, Sept. 2, at 7:30 p.m. at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church Hospitality Hall, 4537 3rd Ave. S, Minneapolis.
The group will hold a rally Saturday, Sept. 3, from noon to 2 p.m. at the state Capitol. In addition to the military families and Iraq veteran Cody Camacho, scheduled speakers include Steelworkers District Director Dave Foster, Congressional candidate Coleen Rowley and state Senator Becky Lourey, DFL-Kerrick, whose son was killed in Iraq.
